2011/2012 Pride of Paradise Marching Band

Spring Trip - San Francisco - April 12-15th
Reminder: The fourth trip payment is due February 10th! Payments must be made timely so payments can be made to Heritage. Please check with Richelle Schmitt for student account balance.

Full Year Fair Share payments are now past due!
Please send your Fair Share payments in or drop in the Red Box as soon as possible.

Full Year Band Student - Marching & Concert - $120
(This includes students participating in Tuesday rehearsals and going on the Spring Band Trip)
One Semester Band Student - $60
Families with more than one band student:
Full Year - $100 per student
One Semeester - $50 per student

Fair Share is extremely important, and covers many of the band expenses throughout the year including instructors. Props were also built for this years Marching Show. This is only made possible by paying your Fair Share!

Fair Share must be paid before going on the Spring Trip to San Francisco.

Candy Bar Fundraiser sign up starts next Tuesday, February 7th! Order boxes of candy bars to sell for $1 each. Please only order how many you will be able to sell. No partially sold boxes can be returned. Absolutely NO selling on campus. Off campus ONLY

Current Fundraising Opportunities for Student Accounts

PIR - NASCAR is back!!! We need volunteers to work 5 program booths March 2nd, 3rd & 4th! Funds will go to both the general band fund as well as student accounts of those that volunteer. Reduce the cost of the Spring Trip with this great fundraiser!! Sign up with Joanna Thompson

Butter Braids are coming again! Butter Braid sales begin on February 27th! Watch for fundraising forms coming your way!!

Please bring your aluminum cans to the Band Room as soon as possible so we can take the trailer to the recycling center. We currently have half of a trailer full of cans to turn in for cash. We are trying to get down there while the price is high! Please continue to collect those cans. We will continue this fundraiser throughout the rest of the year and summer. This will become a permanent fundraiser for the band.

Next Band Parent (BPO) Meeting - Thursday, February 16th, 7pm - Band Room
Please join us for this Parent Meeting as we discuss upcoming Concert Season and Spring Trip

New district rules require ALL parents to complete volunteer forms and criminal background check forms. These MUST be completed before chaperoning any events, local or out of town, or volunteering with students.
These forms will be available in the Band Form packets, or at the meeting.

PVHS Marching Band members will be wearing a red ribbon on their marching uniforms during the 2011 Marching Season in memory of Heidi Hammon, 2011 PVHS Graduate and 4 year member of the Pride of Paradise Marching, Concert & Jazz Bands.

Those we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,
Unseen, unheard, but always near, Still loved, still missed and very dear
We will miss you Heidi!!

Calling all Band Alumni

Attention all PVHS Band Alumni and Students, we have created a Registration Page where you can now register your contact information with us. We would like to keep in contact with our alumni and students by periodically sending you information on what is going on at PV with the different bands. Band Scholarship

The BPO Executive Committee is creating an account to be used for aScholarship Fund. The scholarship fund will be available to assist band members who require financial assistance for extra-curricular activities. Seniors and anyone not returning to band next year who have extra money in their Student Account at year end can direct the extra money to this account. Any extra money left in a student account after graduation can be transferred within the band, but not returned; many times this money comes to the band in the form of an Arizona State Tax Credit to be used for extra-curricular activities. Many students do not specify what to do with their extra money, and it tends to remain in that account forever. This is a chance to help out a fellow band member and to make a difference long after you have graduated.  In fact, band parents and graduates may choose to continue sending AZ Tax Credits to the PVHS band, to be placed in the Scholarship Fund. In the near future, the BPO Executive Committee will establish criteria for requesting scholarship assistance.
Contact Mrs. Thompson or Ms Schmitt to discuss how you can redirect the extra money in your account.
